Here’s What the “Trump Center” for the Performative Arts Would Celebrate

Donald Trump keeps trolling the Kennedy Center over its mission of celebrating the arts and humanities. He’s destroyed its legacy near-term, and gaslights the existing board of self-appointed nominees over what kind of activities should go on there. Let’s consider what a Trump Center might choose to celebrate as acts in keeping with the the life he’s lived.

Goth Band Trump Act
One of the acts at a Trump center for the performative arts is the Goth Heavy Metal Christian Armageddon Band and Orchestra
  1. The Pardon Parade. Trump could have all the people he’s pardoned for crimes against the nation parade across the stage in Red MAGA wear to celebrate his habit of issuing pardons to domestic terrorists and wealthy individuals caught in White Collar Crimes. In his role as the 47th president of the United States (January 20, 2025 – present), Donald Trump granted executive clemency to more than 1,700 individuals as of June 11, 2026, all of whom were charged or convicted of federal criminal offenses. This included a blanket pardon of some 1,500 individuals associated with the January 6 United States Capitol attack. To be clear, he’s also been issuing pardons to people who bribe their way out of crimes by paying millions of dollars to be freed from accountability for their heinous acts of theft, grift, and abuse of financial practices.
  2. The Epstein Files Fantasia. Trump could stage a huge musical production denying all the allegations of child sexual abuse and human trafficking pointing directly to him in the Epstein Files. Cameo appearances by all his co-conspirators would feature Ghislaine Maxwell and an animatron Jeffrey Epstein writhing to circus music as he’s wheeled around the stage surrounded by dozens of young girls and boys who sink below the stage as he wheels past them.
  3. The University of Fraud Game Show. Given the fact that Trump’s own University was fined $25M in a settlement to its supposed “students,” the University of Fraud Game Show would feature a live broadcast of a Jeopardy-like game in which only wrong answers count for points.
  4. Sexual Abuse Superstar. This musical would feature a re-write of all the lyrics of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Jesus Christ Superstar to chronicle the life and times of America’s self-confessed sexual abuser. The cast would consist of porn stars and recruits from the Christian Evangelical Community whose criminal records of sexual abuse would be exonerated in exchange for their appearance in the show. Melania Trump is featured as the “Exonerator,” an angelic figure who appears after each episode to dismiss the sins of her husband using a Magic Wand with a big T on the knob.
  5. Rape and Rapture. This TV game show has a legal theme in which Republican Politicians sit on “judge” panels while rape victims tell their stories before a national audience and the men on the panel decide whether their stories qualify as Rape or Rapture. Of course, the game is essentially fixed as the only purpose is to get women to share their horrific experiences for the lurid interests of the Right-wing Manosphere. The prize for each women’s appearance is a check for $500 and a tee shirt that reads, “Your Body, My Choice.”
  6. The Racist Ballet. Dancers perform a compelling performance of Denial and Determination, in which a cast of all-white ballet dancers twirl and leap to a score of patriotic classical music titled “Patriot’s Theme” with depictions of lynchings, torture, and water cannon attacks on Black Protestors defining the dance until Trump himself walks out onstage dressed in an all-white Klan Robe while pumping his fists in his Trump Dance while the women gyrate around him in lustful displays of Aryan worship,.
  7. The Christian Evangelical Choir. This performance features a series of choral arrangements echoing themes of claimed persecution, infringements of Religious Liberty and argumentative accusations against American Factions it considers sinful. A special appearance of the Anti-Gay Choir will sing “In Sodomites We Don’t Trust,” and the all-male A Cappella Pro-Life Troupe will sing the Street Song “Baby, Don’t Blame Me” with lyrics about why men have every right to cause unplanned pregnancies.
  8. The ICE Follies. This macho Hip Hop production employs real ICE agents to conduct beatings of captured immigrants and liberal American citizens before a live audience of red-hatted ICE fans and vindictive Right-wing Christians chanting “God Hates Libtards.”
  9. Grift and Graft. Trump is the host for this Financial Reality Show in which Financial graft is celebrated as a form of political and economic corruption in which public officials misuse their authority to divert public funds or resources for private benefit  It typically involves the intentional misdirection of funds meant for public projects so that private interests gain an unfair advantage, often through overpriced contracts, kickbacks, or insider deals.
  10. The Snuff Show. Candidates in the Snuff Show are placed behind three curtains as their silhouettes appear to the live and TV audience. The Snuff Host reads histories of how each candidate was trafficked from a childhood to the age of 32, and the audience votes on who was most likely to be “snuffed” by their traffickers fearing exposure if their affiliation with the Snuff Candidate were publicly revealed. When the votes are totaled, the Snuff Candidate who “wins” is snuffed out by a gun with a silencer on it.
  11. So Much Winning, The Musical. This Live Reading of a Trump Biography is acted out by a cast of actual Trump sycophants including Rudy Giuliani, The Pillow Guy Mike Lindell, and the entire ensemble of Trump lawyers who have lost their licenses by representing Trump in false electoral challenges and political scandals cause by the “Winner” himself.
  12. Kash Add Vance to Rubio. This event features members of the Trump administration competing to demonstrate their respective incompetency and lies in all facets of their respective jobs. The main theme is defying the real purpose of their respective agencies, from Bessent to Johnson to Vought to Miller, all to carry out Trump’s incompetent and selfishly motivated wishes with touches of racism, fascism and religion thrown in for good measure. The game concludes when every contestant is finished shameless disgracing themselves and every single duty of the Administration is handed over to the tiny figure of Marco Rubio.
  13. The Armageddon Headbanger’s Ball. This Heavy Metal Band and its backing orchestra dresses in Goth Christian costumes to play dire End Times symphonies while Revelation passages are sung with all sincerity. The show features clashing cymbals and colliding sets of Christian and Jewish religious symbols mixing into an “end of the world” Coda. Images of Israel’s leaders since the 1940s flash across the background set while the running totals of money given to Israel by the United States rotates from the 40s until today rotates around a spinning globe with Jesus standing on top
  14. The Fascism Is Fun Frolic. After a showing of the film A Clockwork Orange, audiences are invited to tour the “local festival” style “Midway” where visitors can practice kicking people when they’re down, suppressing dissenters using a firehose or an AR-15-style rife, dive into the Stand Your Ground tent where various minorities pop up and participants decide in an instant whether they’re a threat or not and shoot them in the head, and attending giant rallies where fake assassinations take place to rile up the crowds into wholehearted hate against whatever group of people they choose to despise.
  15. Trump Is A Living God Service, with dispensational commendations. This religious gathering will officially designate Donald Trump as a Living God. He will issue blessings to all who worship him fully, and additional pardons to all who he originally pardoned but who went on to commit additional crimes including child sexual abuse, burglary, battery and other crimes. All who profess their loyalty to Donald Trump as a Living God will receive a necklace featuring his famed scowling Mug Shot portrait. Cost for attending: $10,000 Cash, but financing with automatic payments is available.

If you have additional suggestions for services or performances at the Trump Center for the Performative Arts please! share them in the comments below. Maybe we can program a whole other season!

The Red Letter commonality between MAGA and MRGA

In which we study the similarities between Make America Great Again and Make Russia Great Again

MAGA rioters attack Capitol police on January 6, 2020

We all watched the outcome of MAGA (Make America Great Again) in the United States of America. Four years of MAGA propaganda by the Trump Administration led to an insurrection against the nation by a manic mix of pro-fascist “demonstrators” claiming the 2020 election was stolen.

That was a horrific moment in American history. But the worst part of the Trump years was the support provided by the Christian evangelical community who cheered on Trump’s often lawless campaign to use the office of President as his personal stomping grounds for whatever enemies he chose to attack.  All of Trump’s vengeful behavior was dismissed as necessary because he was ostensibly acting for the “greater good” by literally carrying out the will of God. According to populist notions of Trump’s rise to power, he was the one anointed to advance the idea that the United States of America is a Christian Nation under God.

That was one of dog-whistle (or God-whistle) messages driving Make America Great Again. It carried with it the promise to ban abortion and block gay people from civil rights, two key social issues to conservative Christians tied to the anachronistic dogma of the religion when it dominated American society. And this despite its demonstrated history of supporting institutional slavery and racism in the likes of ‘Christian-based’ groups like the KKK.

MAGA’s ugly underbelly

MAGA’s ugly underbelly revealed itself during Trump’s first campaign for president as he embraced racist organizations, complimenting them as “good people.” Those groups and others coalesced into the aggressive branch of MAGA whose militias broke down barriers, attacked police, and threatened to murder the Vice President, Mike Pence, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

And while all this happened, the evangelical leadership in America either remained silent or cheered on the events while justifying Trump’s reign of terror by claiming that “God works with flawed people.”

The terrifying fact of the religious rationalization is that it is now being extended, in a brutally ironic fashion, to the leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin, during his military invasion of Ukraine. And here’s the kicker: Putin is carrying out this mission for much the same religious reasons that the American evangelical community wanted to Make America Great Again. Putin views Ukraine as a necessary iconic element in the re-establishment of a Christian-dominated Russia and for all we know, the rest of Europe. This war in Ukraine is an attack on a sovereign nation that values free and fair elections just like the United States of America and other democracies around the world. But Putin wants to install his Christo-fascist version of power over the nation’s people and its resources and call it Russia+. This is Putin’s version of MAGA. So we can legitimately brand it MRGA: Make Russia Great Again.

American Christian’s support for Putin

Conflating God with country is a favorite pastime of the Christian conservative community

Thus it is no coincidence that America’s evangelical Christian community and their conservative friends seem to support Putin. There are also whispers in the halls of End Times Theology that “this is the big one,” because religious zealots hoping for the end of the world and the return of Jesus Christ to rule it all pray that this is their moment of vengeance against the heathens and humanistic believers who want to solve the world’s problems, not turn them into an excuse for Armageddon.

Even Israel can’t make up its mind what to do about Russia, because Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is himself a Jew. There are political and economic striations to consider as well, so the nation perpetually caught between Jewish and Christian interests is now stuck between the rocks of conflicting ideologies, convenient loyalties, and funding to protect its own people.

MRGA and the Taliban

But MRGA will stop for no one under Putin’s direction. His army might be exhausted by the time he overcomes Ukraine, but the people of that occupied nation will keep fighting back. The frightening truth is that if anyone else gets involved beyond sanctions, Putin has threatened nuclear retaliation, even aggression. He also took control of nuclear power plants in Ukraine, and he’s such a despot that he might just let some radiation leak to cow people to his will.

The really sinister part here is that MRGA has been cheered on by some of Trump’s high-profile fans and supporters, including Tucker Carlson at Fox News––and others. In an interview on Fox News, retired Army Colonel Douglas McGregor, who served under Donald Trump and apparently remains loyal to the cause, opined on behalf of Putin telling host Stuart Varney: “The first five days Russian forces I think frankly were too gentle. They’ve now corrected that. So, I would say another ten days this should be completely over.”

Macgregor went on to say that the war could have “ended days ago” if Zelensky had acquiesced to what Russia wanted.”

Those statements drew a rebuke from a noted Republican purist Liz Cheney: “Douglas MacGregor, nominated by Trump as ambassador to Germany; appointed by Trump as senior advisor to the Secretary of Defense, says Russian forces have been ‘too gentle’ and ‘I don’t see anything heroic’ about Zelensky,” Cheney wrote. “This is the Putin wing of the GOP.”

So we can see that the militaristic nature of the latter-day GOP willingly dismisses any notion of international principle in favor of personal opinion, purpose, and priority. It is the classic example of the “ends justifies the means” approach to gaining and retaining power.

This fealty to power when fueled by aggressive conservative and Christo-fascist instincts is devastating to the health of democracies around the world. It is also brutally ironic given the resistance in the Christian sphere to similar efforts by conservative Muslim sects to establish religious control over entire countries. The entire American occupation in Afghanistan, the “war” that lasted more than twenty years–– was driven in part by attempts to rid the country of the religiously driven motives of the Taliban, an arch-Right brand of Islam. And the United States of America failed to quell that influence.

Ugly convenience

None of this surprises us because the ugly convenience of justifying social control and even conducting wars on religious grounds is as old as civilization itself. But consider the irony: It was Jesus that resisted the legalistic control of society by the religious authorities of his day. They killed him for trying to promote a more liberal and socialistic brand of religion based on love, compassion, and a personal relationship with God. None of that was evident in the conduct of the MAGA revolution in America, whose selfish conduct resounded in the halls of Congress when thousands of fascist-minded people beat the police and raided the Capitol.

Nor is there any sign of Jesus Christ in the Russian MRGA attack on Ukraine. This is also a selfishly narcissistic and vainglorious attempt by Putin to grab respect through brute force rather than earn it by respecting international law and having the confidence to build a nation that does not depend on corruption, dirty dealings, and graft to survive. Like Trump, he’s both immensely calculating and lazy at the same time, and sure enough, Trump initially complimented Putin’s military move into Ukraine as “savvy.” God Forbid if Trump was still President. He’d probably be cheering Putin on as Ukrainians died because Trump no doubt has a chip on his shoulder toward Ukraine’s President, who stood up to his corrupt effort to bribe him into doing some political dirty work on Trump’s behalf. To Donald Trump, there is no sweeter feeling than gaining revenge, and now we can see how bad the situation would be if Trump were still in control.

Functionally, we now recognize that MAGA and MRGA are essentially the same thing, twisting religion to serve despotic needs. That is the Red Letter commonality between two equally fascist movements. It also bears strong resemblance to the motives behind the second World War. And that’s bad news for everyone in the world.

The schoolyard bully and his toadies have had their day

In the famously entertaining––and mildly politically incorrect––holiday movie “A Christmas Story,” the bully Scut Farkas terrorizes the Ralphie character and his friends. Scut clearly derives perverse pleasure from tormenting his victims.

Ultimately, Scut pushes Ralphie a step too far and the bespectacled child boils over with rage and frustration at the bullying he’s been dealth for too long. In an instant Ralphie piles into Scut and begins pounding away. Farkas is so surprised by the return of force that it renders him defenseless. The blood pouring from his nose testifies to a long overdue payback for all the threats and arm-twisting he’s imposed upon the neighborhood.

But Scut Farkas does not work alone. He depends on his toadie Grover Dill, a snotty little brute in an annoying oversized cap, as emotional support for his abusive ways. The empowered little monster Grover Dill relishes opportunities to frighten and dun the neighborhood kids into submission. Yet even in victory, after supposed “victory” has been won, when Grover tries to punch Farkas in a friendly way, the insecure bully can’t handle even the slightest resistance. Instead he bludgeons his little buddy even harder to maintain dominance.

The relationship is an example of sick co-dependence.

Eventually, their bullying ways catch up with them. Farkas gets pounded by Ralphie and the toadie Grover Dill gets shoved aside. He turns and runs away crying how unfair it is to be treated like that.

Yes, the bully and his toadie(s) have had their day. It’s long past time for America to knock that furry cap off the head of the neighborhood bully .The same goes for collectively pathetic, small-minded band of toadies too. There’s no reason why everyday Americans should have to put up with this brand of insecure brutality, nor the misogyny and racism, the economic graft and bribery, the fraud and the fecklessness. The lies. The treason. The selfish denial of genuine threats while inventing fears to manipulate the toadie masses.

Let’s send these bullies and their sick little band of angry sycophants scurrying away like the roaches and leeches that they are. And wipe those shit-eating grins and angry looks off their stupid faces. Scut Farkas and Grover Dill have to go, red hats and all. We don’t have to live like this. Just ask Ralphie.

Biblical literalism is costing America dearly right now

Michigan gun protestors

For the last four decades, highly respected polls surveying opinions about religious beliefs have shown that between 30-40% of Americans embrace a biblically literal worldview. That belief system embraces the idea that the Bible story with its six-day creation narrative with animals and human beings fashioned out of nothing is more credible than the demonstrable cause-and-effect outcomes of material processes.

The resulting worldview of creationism also insists that every living creature but a few were wiped out in a global flood and that even the continents were tossed around like toys in a bathtub.

Those premises form a stubborn bulwark against multiple scientific principles ranging from plate tectonics to the theory of evolution.

One-third of America

So it’s time to stop and think about that: almost one-third of Americans do not accept science and instead embrace an alternate view of reality based on a literal interpretation of an oral tradition drawn from beliefs first formed some six thousand years ago. And by no coincidence, many of those same Americans hold the belief that the earth itself if no more than 6-10,000 years old. Some still believe the earth is flat, that sicknesses are caused by demons and that humans once shared the planet with meat-eating dinosaurs.

So it’s not hard to see why so many Americans fail to see the Coronavirus pandemic through a factually clear lens. It is preferable in their minds to deny science and medical information out of habit and fear that it could corrupt their minds and lead them away from God.

Cult thinking

IMG_8609

There are entire organizations and even political parties devoted to the propagation and support of the biblically literal worldview. These range from the apologetically driven Moody Bible Institute to the Answers In Genesis “ministry” with its Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, both facilities dedicated to literal depictions of the Book of Genesis and its array of anachronistic characters. It is little more than a cult of denial, but it is enormously popular in a nation where the irony of religious freedom has produced a generation of patently stubborn idiots.

One in three people who walk into those museums buys that information wholesale. They hear it preached to them from pulpits and consume it through multiple media channels from their local radio stations to the megaphone of Fox News, where dog-whistle anti-science rhetoric claiming the falsehoods of science include calculated PR campaigns and scripted attacks on the impacts of climate change and even basic environmental regulations.

The real alarmists

Let’s be blunt: Americans convinced the earth was created in six literal days are incapable of grasping the public relations sophistication of a story such as a piece published on Fox News from the Heartland Institute, who claimed, “Not surprisingly coronavirus alarm has pushed most other issues and concerns out of the news ⎯ much to the dismay of climate alarmists,” said Steve Milloy of the Heartland Institute. “But the alarmists aren’t taking displacement by coronavirus lying down. In fact, many climate alarmists are trying to use coronavirus as a means of advancing their agenda. They are trying to surf it.”

This fearmongering approach is a common tactic that hearkens back to the earliest forms of propaganda employed by the Christian church to keep people in line. The original alarmists were always religious authoritarians. Traditionally it is the threat of life in hell that religion uses to scare people into believing what they’re told, and without question. Today’s religious leaders and politicians have adapted that approach while targeting science as the enemy of God to convince millions of people that even sound medical advice cannot be trusted.

The love of money religiously abided

Toss fears about the economy into the mix and the fearmongering takes on a whole new level of existential threat. It’s easy to scare people with the idea that someone else is trying to take your money. Climate change deniers and now Coronavirus blamers both claim that scientific warnings about these real threats are all about a money grab and/or an excuse for trying to install a worldwide government.

The sick fact is that even our own government is depicted as a threat among those claiming that basic scientific recommendations about disease control and social distancing are an infringement of liberties. That’s how a gang of gun-wielding domestic terrorists wound up inside the Michigan state capitol building demanding a meeting with the Governor. Their version of truth in action was vigilante lawlessness. In one fell swoop, they demonstrated that aggressive denial of science, common sense and rule of law can all be exacted upon society at will. Disturbingly, the President of the United States approved of their actions, instructing the Governor of Michigan to capitulate to their will. Trump knows that to appeal to “his base” he must cater to the most extreme factions with approval or risk having that 30% of cultlike Trump supporters abandon him.

Trickle-up effect

So we can see how the grassroots belief in biblical literalism and its associated denial of science and truth is costing America right now. President Donald Trump openly embraces evangelicals who deny science and even invent or propagate conspiracy theories that direct blame away from their pet President. All the better to avoid the truth that it was incompetency and delay by Trump right here in America that allowed the Coronavirus to get such traction.

Screen Shot 2020-05-05 at 9.08.40 AM

True to form and in keeping with the “science of denial” common to biblical literalists, Trump at first refused to acknowledge the threat as real (just like climate change) then downplayed its likely spread (though he was informed on a regular basis of the reality of the threat) and has now turned to claim his response has been a dynamic success, when in fact death projections are now reaching more than 200,000 Americans.

The goal now is to outstrip the failure by reframing “success” through the use of denial to convince willing supporters that Trump and team have done a good job. That means preventing any testimony by actual scientists and medical experts at hearings designed to examine America’s response to the pandemic. Just like the Senate’s denial to allow witness testimony about Trump’s corrupt activities in Ukraine, the Republican goal right now is to bury facts under propaganda. This is fascism at work.

LiveScience.com published a fascinating profile of fascism on its website that describes it this way: “Robert Paxton, a professor emeritus of social science at Columbia University in New York who is widely considered the father of fascism studies, defined fascism as “a form of political practice distinctive to the 20th century that arouses popular enthusiasm by sophisticated propaganda techniques for an anti-liberal, anti-socialist, violently exclusionary, expansionist nationalist agenda.”

Fascism, socialism and the public good

Of course, the parallel need of any fascist government is to find an enemy upon which to direct its ire, thereby focusing the fears of its constituents on that target rather than allowing the facts of its own authoritarian power grab to be known. So the Trump regime and its allies are conveniently trotting out “socialism” as that enemy by depicting social programs such as Social Security, Medicaid, and even the US Post Office as socialistically repressive forms of government that must be eradicated. Of course, Trump also eliminated the Pandemic Response Team in 2018 in order to eliminate costs.  This is where belief in a vastly reduced government can have real costs.

As documented on Reuters.com: “In an op-ed for the Washington Post, Beth Cameron, former Senior Director for Global Health Security and Biodefense in the NSC, wrote, “When President Trump took office in 2017, the White House’s National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense survived the transition intact.

“Its mission was the same as when I was asked to lead the office, established after the Ebola epidemic of 2014: to do everything possible within the vast powers and resources of the U.S. government to prepare for the next disease outbreak and prevent it from becoming an epidemic or pandemic. One year later, I was mystified when the White House dissolved the office, leaving the country less prepared for pandemics like covid-19” ( here ).”

Comparable habits

The habits and patterns of denial are so comparable between Trump and the 30-40% of Americans that deny science it is entirely logical to place blame for the spread of Coronavirus on the one-third of the American public that embraces anachronism over science in the modern age. That is proof that biblical literalism is both bad theology and an irresponsible belief system. What God in heaven or on earth would have us choose to disregard or ignore information valuable to the protection of human welfare and even the entire planet? That is a God reduced instead to the petty aims of human selfishness. That is the sin of which Jesus accused the religious authorities of his day, who demanded respect for their country club lifestyle while people suffered in the streets.

These days it is inexcusable to embrace corrupt traditions such as Biblical literalism because it is so easy to find out the facts and know better. Instead, we are being forced to live in an age of lies, misinformation, propaganda and outright fascist attempts to undermine truth in favor of political and religious power in America.

That is the real and original pandemic of untruth with which we’re trying to contend today. Those brutes on the steps of the Michigan capitol are just one illustration of its effects. The other is the painted face and combover lies of a President who can’t face the fact that he’s a fraud, an incompetent, and a bully. That brand of evil threatens to kill us all.
