Romney’s logo seemed a portent of the public hazing his supporter’s rebellion might have received if ancient customs were enforced today
While half of America claims to believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible, I really doubt they’d support ancient customs of kingdom and power. For example, if this were 2000 years ago, the victors of any struggle for power would demand and exact tribute from the losers. That would mean the 50 million people who voted against Obama would have to pay down the costs of the wars their leaders enacted, and also be the ones responsible for recouping any money their leaders gutted from the economy through unnecessary tax cuts for the rich, as under GWB. Plus, the biblically historical treatment of men like Grover Nordquist and Mitch McConnell–who helped lead the recent rebellion against the President through pledges of loyalty and insubordination, would be taken out in into the public square and have the back half of their pants cut off so their butts would be hang out, because that was how vanquished soldiers were treated back then, in a ritual like public hazing. Interesting how that look would rather closely resemble the design of Mitt Romney’s naked butt logo. So it seems we’ve witnessed a bit of good old prophecy in action…if you take the Bible at its literal word.
Which goes to show, you really must be careful what you wish for when calling on the word of God in a literal fashion.
